About the project

With a growing family, the client wished to create not only a library, but also a space that could be used for TV entertainment and playing games. Desks ETC created a multi-function room with moving bookcases to conceal the TV screen when not in use, a desk unit and cabinets for games and toys.

Taking its cue from the solid timber flooring, the library was constructed from a mixture of solid and veneered timbers, toned to keep the room light and to blend with the existing ceiling beams. Glazing and open shelves keep the cabinetry similarly light.
